Elizabeth M. Toth

Elizabeth M. Toth (“Liz”) joined Joseph W. Pieper, Attorney at Law, LLC as an associate attorney in 2019.  Liz focuses her practice on the probate of adult and minor guardianships, decedent’s estates, as well as some residential real estate.  Liz regularly volunteers as a Guardian ad Litem through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and also serves as a Court appointed Guardian ad Litem in both adult and minor guardianships.  

Liz graduated from DePaul University College of Law.  While in law school, Liz served as the Pro Bono and Community Service Initiative Student Coordinator and served on the Executive Board of the Public Interest Law Association.  Liz also received the Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Public Service Award and obtained a Certificate in Public Interest Law.  She was also a two-time scholarship recipient of the Public Interest Law Initiative. 

During law school, Liz interned as a law clerk for the Domestic Relations Division of the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian and participated as a law student volunteer in the DePaul University College of Law Domestic Violence Self Representation Assistance Project.  As a second-year law student, Liz obtained her 711 license and was able to utilize this license while interning at multiple legal aid organizations.  Liz spent a summer interning at Chicago Volunteer Legal Services in their adult and minor guardianship programs, where she both served as a Court appointed Guardian ad Litem, and, also, represented family members in obtaining guardianship of their loved ones with a disability.  Liz spent her last year of law school at Metropolitan Family Services Legal Aid Society in their Domestic Relations Program advocating for domestically abused victims seeking divorces or parentage agreements.

Liz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a double minor in Spanish and Sociology from Elmhurst College.

In her free time, Liz enjoys working out, exploring new states and spending quality time with her nieces and family.
